First Presbyterian Church, Joliet, IL, is seeking a Contemporary Worship Soprano/Alto Vocalist for our live-streamed, blended worship service. We seek to offer a worship service that includes a variety of elements and styles, including traditional hymns and liturgy, contemporary songs, and instrumental music. This is a part-time position, with opportunities for growth in the future.
The Contemporary Worship Soprano/Alto Vocalist is responsible for singing with the Worship Band and leading the congregation in song during portions of First Presbyterian’s live-streamed, blended worship service each Sunday. The Contemporary Worship S/A Vocalist must be available to rehearse with the Worship Band each Sunday prior to the service. The Contemporary Worship S/A Vocalist should be passionate about worship, self-motivated, and organized.
Qualifications:
● Vocal performance experience
● Personal commitment of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, with a passion and love for worship
● Knowledge of current praise music
● Strong communication skills
● Commitment to team ministry
● Ability to work with people
Salary:
Compensation will be a weekly stipend commensurate with your talent and experience.
Responsibilities:
● Attend a weekly rehearsal prior to each Sunday morning service
● Perform as a soloist when asked
● Invite and lead the congregation to participate in singing as appropriate, striving to lead
everyone into a meaningful worship experience that reflects our blended worship style
● Maintain a high level of collaboration with band members and staff, as necessary
● Record new music with the Worship Band to be included in our weekly on-line worship service
● Recruit additional Worship Band members, if possible
